A twist has occurred in the alleged slush accounts traced to former First Lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan.
According to her counsels, two of the accounts among the 5 in dispute belong to Dame's late mother, Madam Charity Fyneface Oba.
Mama's
Peace's counsel, Mr. Charles Ogboli, also admitted that only three of
the five accounts in dispute could be traced to the ex-First Lady and
her mum.
At press time, it was gathered that Mrs. Jonathan was in Abuja where she was strategising on how to win her case.
The ex-First Lady’s counsel spoke on the Channels Television discussion programme, Sunrise and said: “That
is not true. The First Lady did not hold five accounts. They are three
accounts. The First Lady was the signatory of one account and the
mother was a signatory to the other two accounts. “These accounts
were not on a company’s name; it is on a personal data name of the First
Lady. If you check, the BVN showed clearly on a personal name. “And if you go through the BVN, it shows that it is her personal account; it is not connected with the companies facing trial. “The
First Lady was never privy to the companies standing trial. The money
that is in the account ($5 million) should be left to the First Lady.” Responding to a question, Ogboli added: “I am explaining on behalf of the First Lady that this is what transpired.” He
maintained that the former First Lady had protested between 2013 and
2014 against the use of unknown companies to open accounts for her by
the former Senior Special Assistant (Domestic / Household and Social
Events to the former President), Dr. Dudafa Waripamo-Owei Emmanuel.
He said: “What
I am trying to say is that the domestic servant, Dudafa, who was asked
to open accounts, went ahead to use a company’s account which the First
Lady discovered and said I am not part of this. “She said ‘I am not a
director of this company, neither am I a shareholder. I did not present
any certificate of incorporation, I didn’t ask them to open any
account using a company or companies’. The discovery was made between
2013 and 2014 and immediately she kicked against it. “ So, you don’t link her with the company that she does not know anything about.” There
were also indications yesterday that some senators of the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) held a meeting on Thursday, where they vowed to
back the former First Lady in her suit against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the freezing of about $19.8 million in her accounts.
A source told TheNation: “Some
PDP Senators have been meeting on a daily basis on how to give support
to Mrs. Jonathan. They even met on Thursday and the battle will involve a
bit of propaganda too. “At the appropriate time, we will reveal the
identities of the affected senators based on intelligence report. The
corrupt will always protect their own. “Some of these senators are even the ones bankrolling a part of this battle between the former First Lady and the EFCC.''

The Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission has frozen Patience Jonathan’s personal account, titled
‘Patience Ibifaka Jonathan’, which is domiciled in Skye Bank Plc.
Impeccable sources within the agency told
Punch on Wednesday that the move had become necessary due to the prima
facie case established against the former President Goodluck Jonathan’s
wife.
As part of investigations into alleged diversion against a
former Special Adviser to ex-President Jonathan on Domestic Affairs,
Waripamowei Dudafa, the anti-graft agency had frozen four companies’
accounts in Skye Bank with a balance of $15,591,700.
However,
before the EFCC could arraign the four companies in court, Jonathan’s
wife deposed to an affidavit, claiming that the money belonged to her.
Despite
Patience’s claims, however, the EFCC arraigned the four companies
–Pluto Property and Investment Company Limited; Seagate Property
Development and Investment Company Limited; Trans Ocean Property and
Investment Company Limited; and Globus Integrated Service Limited.
The
companies pleaded guilty and the EFCC had already begun moves to ensure
that the money is forfeited permanently to the Federal Government.
A
detective at the EFCC told Punch, “Recall that we had frozen the four
companies’ accounts, which Patience Jonathan later laid claim to. We
have been able to establish that the money was part of proceeds of
crime.
“She had no evidence that the money in the four accounts
belonged to her. All she had were platinum debit cards, which she was
using to withdraw money and the cards are not evidence of ownership.
“Initially,
we had traced $5m to her personal account, which we did not touch but I
can confirm to you now that the $5m account, bearing Patience
Jonathan’s name, has also been seized since she claimed that the monies
in the company accounts and the one in her personal name all emanated
from the same source.
“We are tracing other accounts belonging to
Patience. It will interest you to know that despite all the letters she
has written, she has never stated where she got the money from. She
claimed to be a housewife and yet she has $20m.”
Patience had
recently written a letter to the acting Chairman of the EFCC, Mr.
Ibrahim Magu, where she claimed that she needed the money for her
medical treatment abroad.
She had also sued Skye Bank for N200m, accusing the bank of freezing her accounts unjustly.
In
a letter written by her lawyers, Granville Abibo (SAN) and Co, Patience
said, “It is noteworthy to emphasise that the said accounts, which were
in US dollar denomination, were card-based accounts and our client is
the sole signatory of these accounts.
“The said bank officials
also assured our client that they will change the account names
accordingly and issue to our client new credit cards for the said
accounts which was not done despite repeated demands.
“However,
our client has been operating the said accounts using the cards for her
medical bill payments and purchases for her private purposes without any
let or hindrance.
“Our client was therefore surprised when the
said cards stopped functioning on July 7, 2016 or thereabout. Our client
immediately thereupon contacted Skye Bank Plc through our solicitors.
It was only then that the bank officials informed our client that the
said accounts were placed on a ‘No Debit Order’ following investigations
and instructions from your commission and this is without notice to our
client by either the bank or the commission.
“It is in the light
of the foregoing that we urge you to use your good offices to vacate
the ‘No Debit/Freezing Order’ placed on the said accounts.”

Last week, rapper Kid Cudi called out Kanye West
and Drake and made a few bizarre statements. It's now being reported
that he's having a difficult time right now. According to reports, Kid
Cudi s in the midst of a mental breakdown - caused by mental health
issues and drugs.
His baby mama is now so scared of him, she got a restraining order against him.
Below is what is being reported:
Cudi allegedly texted her in excess of 168 messages –
between August 11th and 14th – in which he threatened to call child
services on her and that he was going to “send the guy to stand by my
house” and that she was “so gross and sick n the head” and “ain’t sh*t”
and he was going to serve her with legal papers because he was seeking
sole custody of their daughter.
Jacqueline says the rapper demanded parenting time with their
daughter during time that she already informed him she would be spending
with their child. She claims despite him being in Chicago for
Lollapalooza, he never contacted her to see their child.
She says that he also threatened to go to the news and contact
outlets and even threatened that he would create a Twitter hashtag
“Justice for Vada” (his daughter’s name) and would blast it on social
media for months and even make t-shirts. She explains his previous
negative tweets about her have caused his millions of fans to suggest
violence against her.
She accuses him of threatening her for no reason and says he berates
and mocks her. He sent messages calling her a “fat f*ck”, “*sshole” and
told her.
Cudi also demanded that his daughter not have any photos taken unless
she was onstage at his concert. Further, when she went to her father’s
funeral in Ohio, he sent a series of messages about Vada having played
Pokeman with her older cousin to which he said “Vada hanging around a
bunch of white people is not what I want either” and “Vada don’t look
like anyone in your family.”
She told him the messages were insensitive and hurtful, to which he
called her too sensitive. Jacqueline accuses the rapper of not even
exercising his parenting time and when he does, he doesn’t follow the
court order.
A judge granted Jacqueline an order
of protection against Kid Cudi which will stay in effect until August 18th
2017.

making you better, if it doesn't challenge you or inspire you to want to
be great, if you don't look forward to it, it's doing the direct
opposite. We all grown, you don't need to give toxic people
heads up before you remove yourself (notice I said yourself, cos you are
in control of what you let in) from their lives. Bad relationships,
friendships, associations of any sort will drain you. Love them from
afar, wish them well and pray for them even but let them go💪🔑
